Backpackers Blueprint Forum Guidelines Welcome to the Backpackers Blueprint Forum, a space for travellers to share their experiences, discoveries, and love for backpacking. This is the place for real, valuable, and respectful discussions. To keep this community fun, informative, and welcoming for all, please follow these guidelines: No.1. Keep It Valuable & On-Topic ✅ Share genuine travel insights, discoveries, and experiences that could help fellow backpackers. ✅ When posting recommendations (hostels, restaurants, hikes, transport tips), provide details—not just “it was great,” but why it was great. ✅ If asking a question, be specific to help others give better advice. 🚫 Avoid: Low-effort posts (e.g., “Backpacking is cool.”) and irrelevant content that doesn’t help travelers. No.2. No Hate, No Politics, No Drama ✅ Respect all cultures, nationalities, and personal experiences; backpacking is about learning, not arguing. ✅ If you disagree with someone, debate respectfully. ✅ Keep politics out unless directly relevant to travel safety (e.g., visa restrictions, travel advisories). 🚫 No racism, sexism, homophobia, or offensive language. No political rants. No personal attacks. No.3. No Misinformation or Dangerous Advice ✅ Fact-check your posts; don’t spread false information about safety, visas, or border crossings. ✅ If you’re sharing anecdotal advice, be clear that it’s your personal experience and not official information. ✅ Always verify safety advice from official sources (e.g., government websites). 🚫 No conspiracy theories, fake news, or reckless recommendations (e.g., “Ignore travel warnings, I did and was fine!”). No.4. No Spam, Self-Promo, or Affiliate Links ✅ Any Spam, self promotion of affiliate links will be removed immediately ✅ If you’re a hostel owner, tour operator, or travel brand, be transparent and participate as a fellow traveller; no sneaky ads, these will be removed immediately. No.5. Keep It Safe & Legal ✅ Share responsible travel advice that respects local cultures, wildlife, and the environment. ✅ If discussing visa runs, border crossings, or working abroad, stick to legal advice. ✅ Encourage ethical backpacking; supporting local communities, avoiding animal exploitation, and minimising environmental impact. 🚫 No posts encouraging illegal activities (e.g., visa overstays, drug use, trespassing, unethical animal encounters). No.6. Respect Privacy & Avoid Doxxing ✅ If sharing hostel or tour operator details, stick to public business info. ✅ When posting about people you met on the road, respect their privacy; no names or personal details unless they’ve agreed. 🚫 No sharing personal information, passport details, or private conversations. No.7. Moderators Have the Final Say ✅ If a post gets removed, respect the decision and adjust future contributions accordingly. ✅ If you spot a post that violates these guidelines, use the report function rather than engaging. 🚫 No arguing with moderators in public threads — DM them for clarifications. No.8. Most Importantly: Share Your Passion for Backpacking! ✅ Whether it’s your best hostel experience, a crazy border crossing story, or the one building you still dream about, we want to hear it. ✅ Keep it real, honest, and useful for the community. ✅ Have fun, help each other, and let’s build the ultimate backpacker knowledge hub! 🚀 Ready to share? Introduce yourself in the welcome thread and tell us where you’ve been! ✈️ Happy travels and safe backpacking! 🌍
