It could also be argued that Paris is home of fine dining, with some of the best restaurants in the world. Hostels here are plentiful and will set you back around €30-70, which is not to not too bad for a city centre.

Day tripping to Mont Saint-Michel from St-Malo is an easy option, download the app, trainline to find ticked from St-Malo, you will generally need to take a train to Dol-de-Bretagne and then change to get to Mont Saint Michel, at which point you are able to get a shuttle from around €3 to the foot of the island. Mont Saint-Michel is a UNESCO World Heritage site. The medieval Abbey,, dates back to the 8th century and was a center of pilgrimage throughout the Middle Ages. It was built in multiple stages and includes Romanesque and Gothic elements. Its a truly beautiful site.
